Uzbekistan has liberalised its foreign-exchange rules, so you have real choices for the Philippines. The simplest is often Paysend or Profee, sent online to a GCash wallet, bank account or card for a low flat fee. Western Union adds a wide cash network across the islands, paying out through partners like Cebuana Lhuillier and Palawan. Money arrives in Philippine pesos, and mobile money or cash is usually the fastest. The upfront fee is only part of the cost. What really decides how many pesos arrive is the margin added to the exchange rate, so compare the amount that actually reaches the recipient, not just the fee.

01

Why Uzbekistan to the Philippines shows no live prices yet

Currency Expert's live comparison engine prices transfers that start in the UK and a handful of other major sending countries, where the providers we connect to operate. None of them currently quote transfers that start in Uzbekistan, so the route comes back empty even though money genuinely moves on it.

Uzbekistan has, however, liberalised its foreign-exchange rules, with online services and agent networks handling outbound transfers. Until we can pull live Uzbekistan rates, this page lists the ways verified to serve the corridor rather than a live price table. Treat it as a shortlist, not a quote, and confirm the rate, fee and limits before you commit.

02

How the money reaches the Philippines

Money into the Philippines can land in a GCash wallet, on a card or bank account, or at a cash pickup counter, always in pesos. GCash and cash are usually the fastest, often within minutes to a couple of hours. Cash is collected through big payout networks such as Cebuana Lhuillier, M Lhuillier, LBC and Palawan.

GCash wallet — paid to the recipient's registered Philippine mobile number, then spendable straight away
Minutes to a couple of hours
Card or bank deposit — to the recipient's card or Philippine bank account using their details
Minutes to a couple of business days
Cash pickup — collected at a partner counter with the recipient's ID and the reference number
Usually minutes

For GCash, you need the recipient's registered mobile number. For a card or bank, their card or account details. For cash, their full name and the reference number, collected with a photo ID. You can send Paysend or Profee online, or start a Western Union transfer online or at an agent.

03

What sending money to the Philippines really costs

The headline fee is only part of the cost. On most transfers the bigger number is hidden inside the exchange rate, so it helps to know where each slice goes before you send.

01

The exchange-rate margin

Each provider adds a margin to the mid-market rate between the som and the peso. On a larger transfer this margin can outweigh the upfront fee, so compare the pesos that actually arrive across the options.

02

Digital versus agent

A digital service like Paysend or Profee tends to charge a low flat fee and pays straight to GCash, a card or a bank, while an agent network like Western Union is handy for cash but can carry a wider rate margin. Match the method to what the recipient needs.

03

Uzbekistan's open rules

Uzbekistan has liberalised its foreign-exchange rules, so current transfers are largely unrestricted, which keeps competition healthy. Still, check the rate you are actually offered, since it varies between providers.

04

Rules on each side

Sending from Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan has liberalised its foreign-exchange rules, and current international transfers are largely unrestricted under rules set by the Central Bank of Uzbekistan. You send through a licensed provider, online or at an agent, with your ID. Very large cash movements across the border are subject to declaration rules. Use a regulated provider rather than an informal channel, and confirm the fee and rate before you send.

Receiving in the Philippines

Payouts are handled by operators and banks regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. Personal remittances received from abroad are not treated as taxable income. The recipient can take the money to a GCash wallet, a card or bank account, or a cash-pickup counter. Make sure the mobile number or account details are correct before you send.

05

Funding your transfer without overpaying

With Paysend or Profee you fund the transfer from a card or bank online, which is usually the cheapest and quickest way. At a Western Union agent you pay cash or from your account. If you pay by card, check first how your bank treats it, since some issuers process a money-transfer payment as a cash advance, adding a one-off fee and interest from day one. And compare the exchange-rate margin, not just the fee.

06

Scams to watch on this route

The most common traps target the recipient in the Philippines, where GCash fraud is common. These few rules are worth passing on to whoever you're sending to.

The fake reversal message

Rule: a forged GCash text can claim money was "sent by mistake", followed by a call pressuring the receiver to send it back. Trust only the real GCash balance, never an SMS on its own, and never refund a stranger.

OTP and PIN requests

Rule: to receive money into GCash, the recipient never shares their MPIN or a one-time code. Anyone asking for one to "release" or "verify" a payment is a fraudster.

Fake support calls

Rule: nobody from GCash or the provider ever needs the MPIN or OTP to "help", "upgrade" or "reverse" a transfer. Never share it, and cash out only at a registered outlet.

Confirm before you send

Rule: check the recipient's GCash number or account details against something they sent you in writing, and use a verified provider rather than a stranger offering a better rate off-platform.

07

How most people send money from Uzbekistan to the Philippines

Takeaway

Because we can't show a live quote here yet, treat this page as a vetted shortlist, then judge each option by the pesos that actually arrive after the rate margin, and confirm the recipient's details before you send.
