Atlantic Money Review Verdict

Our verdict

Atlantic Money charges one flat £3 fee per transfer, whatever you send, at the real mid-market rate with no markup. On a large transfer that is genuinely hard to beat.

The catch is the narrow design. You get nine destination currencies, bank transfer only, no cash pickup, no wallets, and a Trustpilot score that has fallen hard on compliance freezes.

  • Large transfers to a banked recipient in a supported currency

How Much Does Atlantic Money Cost to Send Money?

Atlantic Money's exchange rate and margin

Atlantic Money uses the live mid-market rate, the same one you see on Google, with nothing added on top. That is the rate the banks trade at, and most providers quietly shave a margin off it.

So there is no spread hidden in your rate. The whole cost is the flat fee, which is the opposite of how a bank prices a transfer.

Atlantic Money transfer fees

The fee is a flat £3, or €3 from a euro balance, per transfer. It does not move whether you send £300 or £300,000, which is the entire point of the model.

Item Cost
Standard transfer £3 flat (€3 from EUR)
Express (instant) delivery +0.1% of the amount
Weekend "last known rate" +0.1% of the amount
Card funding Not available; bank transfer only

Sending £1,000 to Europe with Atlantic Money

These figures are illustrative, dated 25 June 2026, to show how the flat fee behaves. The rate is the live mid-market rate, so check the exact figure in the app before you send.

Rate (mid-market) Fee Recipient gets
Atlantic Money (GBP→EUR) mid-market £3 ~€1,165 on £997 converted
Atlantic Money (GBP→USD) mid-market £3 ~$1,250 on £997 converted

Atlantic Money does not support GBP→INR, so India is off the table; the two corridors above are supported. The flat £3 means the more you send, the better the deal gets against a percentage fee.

Costs to watch

  • Express or weekend transfers add 0.1%, which on a large sum costs more than the £3
  • There is no card funding, so you cannot earn card rewards on the transfer
  • The £3 fee makes small transfers relatively dear; under about £700 a percentage provider can win
  • The mid-market rate moves all weekend until you lock it, unless you pay for the last-known rate

Where Can You Send Money With Atlantic Money?

Countries and currencies supported

We confirmed Atlantic Money sends from the UK and 30 EEA countries, funding in GBP or EUR, to nine destination currencies only: AUD, CAD, DKK, EUR (covering euro routes such as the UK to Spain), GBP, NOK, PLN, SEK and USD.

That list is the headline limitation. There is no INR, no PHP, no PKR, no NGN, so if you send to family in South Asia or much of Africa, this is not your provider.

Payout methods

  • Bank deposit only, paid into your recipient's account
  • No cash pickup, so nobody collects notes over a counter
  • No mobile wallet or UPI
  • Funds must come from a bank account in your own name; third-party funding is bounced

Transfer speed and limits

Standard delivery Up to 2 business days (AUD up to 4)
Express delivery Instant via Faster Payments, for +0.1%
Limit after basic sign-up £2,500 per 180 days until you verify ID
Maximum Up to £1m per transfer once fully verified

Who Is Atlantic Money Best For?

Sending money to family overseas

Only if your family banks in the right currency. If a relative takes euros, dollars or Polish zloty into a bank account, the flat fee is excellent value on a decent-sized send.

But if they need cash in hand, or you send to India or the Philippines, Atlantic Money cannot help you at all. That rules out a big slice of family remittance, and you should know it before you sign up.

Business and supplier payments

This is where the flat fee earns its keep. Paying a €40,000 supplier invoice costs you £3, where a percentage provider might charge you well over £100.

The limits suit it too, with up to £1m per transfer once you are fully verified. There is no batch tool or accounting integration, though, so it fits one-off invoices better than a monthly payroll run.

Large one-off transfers

A natural fit on cost, with one hard caveat. On £50,000 to a euro account the £3 fee against a percentage rival can save you hundreds, at the genuine mid-market rate.

Picture a property deposit due in three months, though. Atlantic Money cannot fix today's rate for a future date, so a market swing could cost you far more than any fee. A broker locks that rate; Atlantic Money cannot.

When another provider fits better

  • You need to fix today's rate for a payment due later
  • Your recipient is outside the nine supported currencies
  • You are sending a small amount where a percentage fee comes in under £3

Is Atlantic Money Safe?

How Atlantic Money protects your money

We checked Atlantic Money against the FCA Register. Since the November 2024 Deel acquisition it operates as Deel Payments UK Ltd, an Authorised Payment Institution under FRN 947491.

It safeguards your money in segregated accounts, kept apart from its own.

That is not FSCS protection, so there is no £120,000 guarantee on your money. For funds passing straight through to a transfer, that is the normal trade, but it is worth knowing.

Account security and fraud protection

Security is standard for a modern fintech: ID verification by selfie and document, and app-based access. The flip side is strict anti-money-laundering checks.

Those checks are the source of most complaints. A larger transfer can trigger a source-of-funds request that freezes your money while you supply paperwork, so build that time in before any deadline.

07

Using Atlantic Money: Sign-Up, App and Support

Signing up and verification. You register in the app and verify with a selfie and a government ID. Until you do, you are capped at £2,500 over 180 days, so verify early if you plan to send more.

App and website. Atlantic Money is app-first, with a web platform added in 2024. The app earns its high store ratings for a clean interface and real-time tracking, and saved recipients make repeat sends quick.

Customer support. Support is in-app and by email. The recurring frustration is slow resolution when your transfer is held for compliance, which is exactly when you most need a fast reply.

08

Atlantic Money Customer Reviews and Reputation

We read the recent reviews, not just the headline number. The split is stark: people love the app and the price, but a minority have been badly stung by account freezes.

Source Score Reviews As of
Trustpilot 2.3/5, "Poor" 176 July 2026
Apple App Store 4.8/5 282 2026
Google Play 4.7/5 502 2026

What people praise: the flat fee, the mid-market rate, and a fast, tidy app.

What goes wrong: transfers frozen for source-of-funds checks, slow support during those holds, and disputes over revoked referral rewards.

09

How Does Atlantic Money Compare?

Against Wise, the maths is simple. Below roughly £700 Wise's percentage fee usually wins; above £1,000 Atlantic Money's flat £3 pulls clearly ahead, and on a £10,000 euro transfer it is far cheaper. We line them up in our money transfer comparison. Our CurrencyFair review covers another flat-fee app worth weighing on larger transfers.

Against a broker like OFX or TorFX, Atlantic Money is cheaper on a same-day large transfer but cannot lock a rate for a future date, which is the whole reason you would use a broker.

For unsupported corridors or cash pickup it is simply not in the running, and a provider like Wise or Remitly is. We compared these routes ourselves, and we refresh the live figures daily, so use our live comparison of today's rates and fees for the corridor you care about.

10

Final Verdict: Is Atlantic Money Worth It?

Atlantic Money is the cheapest way to move a large sum to a banked recipient in one of its nine currencies, at the real rate, for a flat £3.

For a business paying a euro or dollar invoice, or anyone sending sizeable amounts to a supported bank account, it is excellent value, and we rate it 4.0 out of 5.

Just know its hard edges before you lean on it: no cash pickup, a short currency list, no way to lock a future rate, and compliance checks that can freeze your transfer when you least expect it.
