Moneycorp Review Verdict

Our verdict

Moneycorp is a 60-year-old currency broker built for large, high-stakes transfers: property abroad, emigration and business FX. It charges no online fee, puts its cost in the rate, and pairs that with a dedicated dealer and forward contracts up to two years.

It is not built for small family remittance. There is no cash pickup, the margin on small sums is wide, and under £1,000 it is rarely the cheapest way to send.

How Much Does Moneycorp Cost to Send Money?

Moneycorp's exchange rate and margin

Moneycorp charges no online fee, so its cost lives almost entirely in the exchange rate. The gap from the mid-market rate, the figure you would see on Google, is what you actually pay.

That gap slides with size. It sits roughly 0.5% to 2.5% above mid-market, wider on small sums and tighter as the amount climbs. On a large transfer a dealer can negotiate the rate, so the headline band is only a starting point for you.

Moneycorp transfer fees

Online, your transfer is usually fee-free. What you watch instead is the rate margin and the channel you trade through.

Transfer type Typical fee
Online transfer £0
Telephone dealer trade ~£15
Some EU routes (standard / express) £5 / £9

Sending £1,000 to India with Moneycorp

These figures are illustrative. Moneycorp's dealer rates are quote-on-request, so we built them from its sourced margin band on the 25 June 2026 mid-market rate (GBP/EUR 1.15955, GBP/INR 125.36), at a typical 1.5% small-transfer margin. Check your live quote first.

Rate Fee Recipient gets
Moneycorp, GBP to EUR (~1.5% margin, illustrative) ~1.1422 £0 ~€1,142
Moneycorp, GBP to INR (~1.5% margin, illustrative) ~123.48 £0 ~₹123,480

At £1,000 the margin is wide, and a flat-fee app like Wise will usually put more in your recipient's account on these routes. The picture flips on large sums. On £50,000 the negotiated margin can fall toward 0.5%, where a dealer and a forward start to matter more than a fraction of a percent.

Costs to watch

  • The cost is in the rate, not a visible fee, so compare on the amount received
  • Small transfers carry a wider margin, so under £1,000 you rarely win on price
  • A telephone trade adds about £15 over the online rate
  • A forward contract may need a deposit under the facility agreement

Who Is Moneycorp Best For?

Sending money to family overseas

Be honest here: this is not what Moneycorp is for. It pays into bank accounts only, with no cash pickup or wallet, and the margin on small sums is wide.

If you are sending £200 or £500 to a relative, a flat-fee app will almost always be cheaper and quicker to set up. Point yourself at a remittance specialist instead.

Business and supplier payments

This is firm ground. You get multi-currency accounts holding 120-plus currencies, bulk and batch payments, and API links into Xero, QuickBooks and NetSuite, so your payment data syncs without manual entry.

Corporate pricing is bespoke and negotiated by volume, with no monthly account fee as standard. That suits a business with real overseas flow handling international business payments more than an occasional sender.

Large one-off transfers

This is where Moneycorp earns its rating, particularly for property and emigration. Forwards run up to 24 months, and a named dealer handles the timing.

Picture a completion on a house in Spain six months out. On £300,000, a 1% rate swing is £3,000, and a forward lets you lock today's rate now so the cost cannot drift before you complete. A dealer walks you through it. An app cannot.

When another provider fits better

  • You are sending small amounts and want the cheapest route
  • Your recipient needs cash in hand or a wallet top-up
  • You want to run everything yourself from a slick mobile app

Moneycorp Pros and Cons

Pros

  • No online transfer fee, with the cost sitting in a sliding-scale rate margin
  • Forward contracts up to 24 months, plus limit, stop-loss and OCO orders
  • A dedicated dealer who negotiates the rate and times large trades
  • Multi-currency accounts and API links to Xero, QuickBooks and NetSuite
  • FCA-authorised, with 60 years of trading behind it and a 4.7 Trustpilot score

Cons

  • Wide margin on small sums, so under £1,000 you rarely get the cheapest send
  • Bank deposit only: no cash pickup or mobile wallet
  • A weak consumer app, rated far below the remittance fintechs
  • Telephone dealing keeps office hours, not 24/7 human support
  • Safeguarded, not FSCS-protected, so no £120,000 guarantee

Is Moneycorp Safe?

How Moneycorp protects your money

We checked Moneycorp against the FCA Register. Its UK entity, TTT Moneycorp Ltd, is an authorised Payment Institution under FRN 308919, and it keeps client money in segregated accounts apart from its own.

That is not FSCS protection, so there is no £120,000 guarantee on your balance. For money passing straight through to a transfer, which is how broker FX works, that is the normal trade.

Account security and fraud protection

The day-to-day security is solid. Moneycorp enforces two-factor authentication on online trades under PSD2 rules, with 256-bit encryption protecting your data. On a large transfer, a dealer also puts a human eye on anything unusual.

07

Using Moneycorp: Sign-Up, App and Support

Signing up and verification. You open the account free online with standard ID and proof of address. Large transfers trigger source-of-funds requests, such as a property sale contract or probate papers, so build that time in before a completion date.

App and website. The web platform handles quotes, spot trades and tracking, but the consumer app lags badly, rated around 2.5 on iOS and lower on Android. Brokers like this run on desktop and phone dealing, not a polished app, so do not pick Moneycorp for the phone experience.

Customer support. Dealers and phone support run Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:30pm UK time. Reviewers single out the named-dealer service as prompt and personal, which is the point of paying for a broker.

08

Moneycorp Customer Reviews and Reputation

We read the recent reviews, not just the headline number, and they cluster around one clear strength and one recurring gripe.

Source Score Reviews As of
Trustpilot 4.7/5, "Excellent" 6,952 July 2026
Apple App Store ~2.5/5 varies 2026
Google Play ~1.3-3.6/5 varies 2026

What people praise: the dedicated dealer, the calm handling of large, stressful property transfers, and prompt replies.

What goes wrong: compliance holds while KYC and AML checks clear, and a clunky mobile app.

09

How Does Moneycorp Compare?

For small or instant transfers, Wise is usually cheaper and faster, with one clear fee and the mid-market rate instead of a margin buried in the rate.

Against fellow brokers like TorFX, OFX or Currencies Direct, Moneycorp leans on scale, a 60-year record and deep corporate tooling, where the smaller brokers can feel more personal. All three give you forwards and a dealer. Among fellow corporate-FX brokers our Ebury, Convera, Equals Money and IFX Payments reviews cover the closest rivals.

We compared these routes ourselves, and we refresh the live figures daily, so use our money transfer comparison for the amount and corridor you actually care about.

10

Final Verdict: Is Moneycorp Worth It?

Moneycorp is the one to reach for when the sum is large and the timing matters: a property completion, an emigration, a business paying suppliers abroad.

For those jobs it is hard to beat, with forwards up to two years, a named dealer and proper corporate tools, and we rate it 4.3 out of 5.

Just know its edges before you send: a wide margin on small amounts, no cash or wallet payout, and a consumer app that trails the fintechs badly. For a £200 transfer to family, it is the wrong tool, and you should send that elsewhere.

Moneycorp FAQs

Online transfers from the UK are usually fee-free. A telephone dealer trade carries about a £15 fee, and a few EU routes show a £5 standard or £9 express fee. The real cost is the exchange-rate margin, which runs roughly 0.5% to 2.5% and tightens on larger sums.

Not really. The margin on small amounts is wide and there is a £50 online minimum, so under £1,000 you rarely get the cheapest send. For small amounts to family, a flat-fee app like Wise usually puts more in your recipient's account.

TTT Moneycorp Ltd is FCA-authorised as a Payment Institution (FRN 308919) and safeguards client money in segregated accounts. That is not FSCS protection, so there is no £120,000 guarantee, but your funds are kept apart from Moneycorp's own.

Yes. A forward contract lets you fix today's rate for a future date up to 24 months ahead, which is why it suits property and emigration. It also offers limit, stop-loss and OCO orders, and a dealer can guide your timing.
